ONLINE FRAUD
(updated 11/27/07)

BE CAUTIOUS AND DEAL LOCALLY
If the deal sounds to good to be true, it probably is. When replying to an ad, use some common-sense. A few tips are listed below;

Avoid Fraud:
YopCity.Com is a freely available service to help buyers and sellers find each other, buyers seeking sellers, and sellers seeking buyers, and so on.

YopCity.Com is not involved in any transactions nor do we guarantee transactions, handle payments, or provide escrow services.

Helpful Online Tips:
Deal with people locally. The vast majority of scammers will contact you from another country or somewhere far away. The best way to avoid scams is to deal locally, one-on-one, in person!

Wiring Funds:
DO NOT wire funds (via Western Union, etc.). If you are asked to wire funds, you are talking to a scammer and most likely it's a SCAM.

Cashiers Checks/Money Orders:
Beware of fake cashier checks and money orders. Fakes are common and banks may even cash them. But when the fraud is discovered you may be liable.

Your Private Information:
Never share your private information. Anyone that is asking for bank account numbers, login info, or social security numbers, eBay and/or PayPal account information.

Shipping and Escrow Scams:
Avoid shipping and escrow. Scammers commonly employ fake, online escrow services.
